Free Software for Project Management

Redmine is a special type of open source software that has been designed especially for project management. The software is extremely versatile and can be used for a large number of different types of projects to provide an excellent way to enhance businesses and help managers keep on top of their projects.

Staying on Track

One of the great things about Redmine is that the software comes complete with downloadable files so that users can get started straight away. However, it has to be said that getting to grips with it may be tougher for some people than other and it is a good idea to have a computer programmer on hand who can decipher the coding language and make the appropriate changes. Once this has been done, users will be good to go and the software can be used to create and share tasks, make graphs and provide a whole host of other functions.

Managing Projects Easily

This software is extremely versatile and the fact that it is packed with features and tools means that businesspeople in a large number of different fields are likely to find that this is just what they need. The only real downside of using Redmine is that it is not as easy for some people as it appears at first and although the rewards far outweigh the time used to learn the software, some novice computer users may become frustrated rather quickly.

PROS

  • Free to use
  • Packed with useful features

CONS

  • Formatting of code is clumsy
  • Configuration process is time consuming
